Description: Fire Officer I is the first line of supervision in the fire department organization, a person certified to this level will be able to perform routine administrative functions, complete reports, follow department/agency administrative polices, apply human resource skills in completing assignments, supervise company level personal during in-service training, complete tasks, interact with the community by assisting with complaints, public education opportunities and other public inquires, complete company level pre-incident planning and life safety business inspections, manage an incident, complete initial accident investigations and conduct a post-incident analysis (PIA).

Requirements for Certification: Candidates shall be at least 18 years of age. Complete a practical skills examination with a "Passing" score. Complete an 100 question written examination with a passing score of 70% or higher.
