Course Description:


Designed for fire service instructors who perform live fire training evolutions, this course adheres to NFPA 1041: Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications and NFPA 1403: Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions. The live fire instructor in charge course prepares the instructor to lead a live fire evolution. The course will consist of creating live fire burn plans, determining fire flow rate calculations, following sequential burn charts, and addressing safety issues on the training ground in order to ensure instructors are operating safely throughout the live fire evolutions. Once complete, the student will have the knowledge required to create a live fire burn plan for their fire department’s training/burn building.

Upon successful completion of the live fire instructor in charge course, the student will be able to take the live fire instructor in charge IFSAC certification exam.

*If more than one course price is shown, the first price applies to all Louisiana Municipal Fire Departments who are issued a Fire Department ID from the State Fire Marshal's Office and are supported by the 2% Fire Insurance Fund. The second price applies to all non-Louisiana Municipal Fire Departments including state agencies (in-state and out-of-state), out-of-state fire departments, federal agencies, and the private sector, etc.
