Louisiana FETA Student Dress Code
Students attending classes at Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy on or off campus should use good judgment in selecting clothing that projects a professional image and is appropriate for climate and classroom activities.
In classroom settings, appropriate professional casual attire includes:
- Slacks or capris pants
- Jeans without rips or tears
- Shirts with collars; polo, button up or denim shirts
- Department tee shirts are allowed (must not be faded and free of holes)
- Department uniform
- Turtlenecks, hoodies, long sleeve, and sweaters
- Skirts/dresses/blouses (no backless or low-cut)
- Work, dress, or casual shoes
What you can't wear:
- Shorts
- Tank tops
- T-shirts with slogans, offensive wording and/or without sleeves
- Flip-flops
- Open toe shoes
- Crocs
Drill field activities shall require appropriate clothing or proper PPE. Classes on campus or off campus that require the use of SCBA require the student to be clean shaven while attending class. Facial hair must not be present where thee SCBA mask seal contacts the skin. Mustaches and normal sideburns are permitted.
Louisiana FETA Student Code of Conduct
Students are expected to observe the Louisiana FETA Code of Conduct:
- Be courteous to others at all times
- Comply with directions of FETA instructors, administrators or staff personnel
- Support a safe and healthy learning environment
- Disruptive classroom behavior, immoral or disorderly conduct, profane, obscene, vulgar, or indecent language shall be grounds for dismissal
- Use of tobacco products (including vaping) inside of FETA buildings is not permitted
- Cell phones will not be used during class and shall be put on vibrate or airplane mode
- Students are required to maintain classroom cleanliness
